I wish I may, I wish I might...

...have my dog back tonight

I miss my dog. he was my best friend and I loved him very much. Why did he have to get run over? Why couldn't that driver have stopped in time? I should have been there. Maybe I could have prevented the accident. Please, make all this be a dream. I want my dog back.

...make it through this summer all right.

If I can just hold on until September things should be o.k. I have a good chance of making it into university and then I will be free of these pressures. If I keep thinking this hell will end I won't be so hard on myself. All I wish for is a chance to start again.

I see myself from afar,

Is what I want, what I need?

To what debt have I agreed?


We all want to wish on a star sometimes. When life is rough we look for others to help us. We also look to God, or Fate, or Luck.

Everything has a price however and we must be willing to pay it. There was no way I could 'pay' to have my dog back. I did learn to value his memory and I still have a soft heart for dogs. I did pay for making it to university and escaping a bad situation. My love of learning and literacy has continued and I promote these causes. My volunteer jobs involve these causes. I am still happily paying off the debt I agreed to.
