I am busy trying to catch up on blog projects so I thought I would link to some posts I read recently. They vary from funny to serious but all make one think a bit.
What if we had 3 eyes? by Random Magus. Answer the question yourself - either in the comments (at her blog) or your own blog.
Arachnophobes be warned... by Brian Cormier. How would you react if it happened to you?
"I Quit This Bitch" by Tara. I think this would be a grand way to make a statement when quitting a job. What do you think?
How I lost my religion by hitting an animal by Joel. This is a very interesting post about an incident that changed a person's worldview. What incidents changed your life? Blog about them if you wish.

Blogging Away The Cold
It is cold outside and the snow is still around. I didn't venture out much except to eat some Fish & Chips. LJ has posted some photos of Victoria in the snow.
Except for a slight headache I am fine. Men-a-men, however was sick today. Stop in and wish him a speedy recovery.
I stopped in at Shutterview to read Nic's latest post. He posted another funny video in his Fresh Faced Comic series.
I haven't played around with my art programs recently because I have been busy with blogs. I did find time to give one artist some feedback. Check out Duncan's drawing and give him some feedback.
When my blogfriends check their stats they may see readers coming from my blog. That may be boring compared to some things statcounters can show. My latest funny keyword search is:
does laughing create braincells?I say it does - I mean the person was smart enough to find Firemind and hopefully will have a laugh while reading here. They might even learn something. ^__^
Cheers.

Funny English
One of the benefits of creating Big Blog Directory has been finding interesting new blogs. One of these is called Have Fun With English. The blog has many jokes and puns.
I haven't read everything yet but I have found some great posts. Check out this one and this one.
PS: I don't think 'Booger Gizzardsniffer' would look good on my resume. ^__^

Still Wagging
I woke up feeling tired and crappy a little while ago. I think I'll feel good when I get some food into me and get cleaned up. What is going to be a pain is catching up on my housecleaning and dealing with all the messages on my answering machine.
I am feeling out of touch with friends too. I talked to some this week but not others. I feel like a recluse. Ha ha.
After reading Shogun's blog yesterday morning I wrote my previous post. I was a bit angry at the time.
One chameleon-like blogfriend has changed blogs again. You can find him at My Life: Unscripted. Stop in and say hello and follow the link to a cool cartoon.
I haven't had time to read any other blogs in the last few days. I will have fun doing that.
The next few days are going to be busy but I look forward to getting things done... sort of.

Alive: Sort Of.
Gah, I wanted to get so many things done today. I did nothing but sleep. I have been feeling ill for a few days but nothing heavy just sluggishness. Luckily I can eat and my store of granola bars has saved me from hunger.
Playing Civ has helped for the odd hours I am awake. The Rock & Roll wonder I mentioned is one of the cool new ones. Like "Broadway" and "Hollywood" it makes citizens happy, provides a cultural boost, and produces a trade item (hit singles). If only the real historical attitudes towards rock were as simple and clear.
I went to read my favourite blogs and got a surprise. The mastageekysomethingorother has changed again. I'll have to get it all worked out. Everyone stop by and tell him to find a name and stick to it.
Shogun posted after missing a day. I don't like to pressure friends to blog because I know how tough it can be. But if more people stop by and say hi he might be encouraged to blog more. :)
Okay, I had a snack and now I am off to have a real meal. The granola bar means I resist biting the waiters as they take my order. haha.

Fun And Not
Yesterday I was still feeling a little rundown but I pushed myself and made it to my volunteer job. It was nice to get back into my routine. Work was hectic at times but nothing stressed me out.
After I left the office I went to find out about getting an optometrist appointment. I was referred to a doctor and will set up an appointment next week. I was procrastinating about it for ages and even asked people to remind me. Yesterday I reminded myself and went and did it.
I spent the evening and early morning playing games and chatting. I had some interesting discussions.
I posted at both "2 Lazy" blogs. We may have a problem at the music blog because of new restrictions at Radio Blog Club. I will check into it this weekend.
I have a bill to check on and pay on Monday. Sometimes I wish I could throw my phone out the window.
So yesterday was okay over all.

Quiet
It is quiet and peaceful right now. I am feeling quiet too but not so peaceful.
I wrote a few posts in 2 Lazy 2 Blog last night and this morning. Several things kept me busy.
I am still having problems with Gaim and found out that the bug is being worked on by the programs developers. Now I am getting booted out of AIM periodically. Meh.
I am working on a blog post idea/project and it seems to be taking forever. I think it's cool but also find working on it depressing sometimes.
Being quiet is okay as is being at peace. Knowing that my emotions could boil over is a little distressing. I accept how I feel and understand why I am feeling this way, but I am leery of making a scene.
Am I dissatisfied, lonesome, depressed, or all of the above? Or none? I am not really brooding as much as trying to recognize what I am feeling.
I sit...
feeling alone...
knowing that my thoughts...
won't be read for hours.
That is good in a way because by then my mood will have changed. Comments or a lack of them won't make things worse... or better.
These are my emotions. I claim them. I don't feel ill because of them. I feel healthy because I recognize them and can control them.

Flickr Bits
Fintan has done it again. He created Get Set - a program which takes public photos of a photoset and creates tiled thumbnail links.
I tested it in Fire Pix using one of my smaller sets. It looks nice in the blog.

Guest Posting
I just wrote Part 1 of a guest post at Shogun's Blog. "Shogun And Me" talks about our friendship and how it evolved through blogging and IM. I am not exactly sure how part two will go yet but it should be interesting.

Reading Blogs
I have been busy or tired or both lately. I was going to post earlier but got into a nice long chat with a friend. In a way I needed that chat. I needed to connect with him like we used to.
I have lots to do today so I have to be brief here. I just wanted to mention some blogs.
In May I wrote a post called "Cleansing". It was a follow up post that included relevant links from Men-a-men. When I read Men's latest post about another bomb being found near his grandfather's home I felt ill. More than sixty years after being dropped this bomb can still pose a danger. When will that War go away? We must not forget, but it would be nice if it didn't keep coming back to haunt us.
(You can comment - in English - here.)
Shogun just wrote his 100th post and is asking for guest posts. You may not want to write a post but you can stop in and say hi. I know some of you read his blog.
Shogun's post for "Friday, June 30, 2006" bothered me a little. I know what it is like when people say they are "just joking" but it feels like you are being bullied. I have seen this at school and on the job.
These blogs got me thinking and blogging.

Audio Antics
Yesterday was a very good day. I was happy to work my usual Friday shift at the place I volunteer at. The afternoon was steady until about an hour before closing.
I was talking to a coworker about some blogs and I showed him Men's photo of two dogs playing. I explained about commenting in Dutch and the challenge it presented me. I added that I was slowly learning to read Dutch.
I was thinking about blogging when I had my supper and then when I walked home. I expected to write a quick text post but not work with any music or podcasts. Things didn’t turn out as expected.
The Interview
'The Masta' IMed me and then asked if we could switch to voicechat. I said okay and then found myself being interviewed in a podcast! What followed was a long series of impromptu gags and oddball questions. Topics included: terrorist dogs, rabid squirrels, Rambo, Oprah, and Michael Jackson. It was fun and weird.
The interview is quite long but is worth listening to. You can listen to it at The Masta's Blog. The podcast player is in the sidebar. The post you want is the latest one (the top one) called 'June 23, 2006 Phone call'.
Listen to the interview and leave comments in his blog and/or here.
Online Music
After 'The Masta' and I finished our interview and follow up chat I listened to the podcast for the first time. I laughed several times and IMed some friends and told them about it.
One of the people I talked to was Stephen. Part of our conversation was about the music at Radio Blog Club and other sites. Websites that allow people to listen to music or even download songs help promote musicians. I bought a Fall Out Boy CD after listening to them at MySpace and Radio Blog Club. I am thinking about buying another CD by a different band. Listening to this 'free music' got me interested in the songs and the musicians.
As Stephen and I talked we figured out the new and irritating method of song selection at RBC and posted songs at 2 Lazy 4 Radio.

Firemind The Kidnapper!
Ha ha! I just kidnapped... er blognapped a post at The Masta's Blog.
The Masta gave me the email address of his blog so I could do it. This is the first time I tried using email and I think it's cool.
Maybe I could start a career as a "ghostblogger".

Recognition
I was checking up on blogs today and noticed that two of my regular reads aren't getting a lot of comments. Part of the problem is that the bloggers don't promote their blogs or just don’t worry about that aspect of blogging too much. I decided to mention these blogs because I like them.
The Masta
The Masta's Blog is fairly new but "The Masta" is working hard to fill it with interesting posts. There’s video, text and even some podcasts. There are a number of interesting links too.
The blog may appeal more to younger readers but it is appropriate for everyone.
The Masta is a member of 2 Lazy 2 Blog and was the winner of the Mascot Contest. He and I have been working on different projects and he does contribute a lot to them.
Shogun
Shogun's Blog doesn’t really have a name at the moment. It is mostly a record of what he has been doing and/or thinking. I like it because I can keep track of what my friend is doing and sometimes he writes some funny stuff. Sometimes he writes some very good stuff.
I find that this blog is one of those catalyst blogs that get me writing. I find that other blogs influence me too.
Shogun's blog may not appeal to everyone but many of you will be able to relate to what he says.
Recognition
I have been commenting on theses blogs and supporting the bloggers. It would be nice for others to stop in, look around, and say hi. You may not become a regular reader but you will spread some good blog cheer.
No one asked me to write this post and I may even have to duck if they throw things at me. I just want these blogs to get the recognition they deserve.
