Still Cold

I have several ideas for blog posts I am working on. The one for Firemind is funny (in a way) and the one for BBDis about blogging memoirs. While you are waiting read the latest at BBD.

During the day it seems to be melting a little but that just makes the streets and sidewalks slipperier at night. The paper said November was Victoria's wettest month in ages and snowiest. Weather works in weird ways.

The cold weather and the snow are making me want to hibernate. I guess I will have to grin and bear it. ;)

Blogging Away The Cold

It is cold outside and the snow is still around. I didn't venture out much except to eat some Fish & Chips. LJ has posted some photos of Victoria in the snow.

Except for a slight headache I am fine. Men-a-men, however was sick today. Stop in and wish him a speedy recovery.

I stopped in at Shutterview to read Nic's latest post. He posted another funny video in his Fresh Faced Comic series.

I haven't played around with my art programs recently because I have been busy with blogs. I did find time to give one artist some feedback. Check out Duncan's drawing and give him some feedback.

When my blogfriends check their stats they may see readers coming from my blog. That may be boring compared to some things statcounters can show. My latest funny keyword search is:

I say it does - I mean the person was smart enough to find Firemind and hopefully will have a laugh while reading here. They might even learn something. ^__^

After I ate I was making a little snowman for the bus-stop bench when one of the waitresses from the cafe snuck out and threw a snowball at me. ^__^

Rain And Blogs

The November rain is falling outside. I was cold when I went to breakfast. I hope to get some things done today but that will depend on how I feel.

Right now I am dividing my time between blogging, searching blogs, and playing Age Of Mythology Gold. (It has both AOM and the Titans expansion).

I am working out some post ideas for this blog. I have some memories to write about including: ghost hunting in York, and mountain climbing alone. Both may be long posts and I have to be in the mood to write them.

I was playing around with Blog Search again. I tried search terms like "I like blogging", "I like writing", and "I live in Victoria". I tried others as well. I found several interesting blogs written by people of all ages. A few of them deal with writing. The ones by young people may be featured in a post at 2 Lazy 2 Blog.

I plan to write a series of short posts about blogging at BBD. Topics I am thinking about include 'citing sources', and 'comments'.

It looks like I will be busy for a while. Maybe I should have set aside some housekeeping chores 'for a rainy day' too. Naaaahhh. ^__^

Furnace

It. Is. Hot.

Today was my usual Friday volunteer day and I noticed the heat as soon as I left my place. The air conditioning at the office hit me like a moving wall as I went in the door. Later on the office felt warm and stuffy until I popped out for a cold drink. Beyond our door the air was hot and humid and the cafe was almost as bad. I was glad to get back to work.

I got someone to take a few photos of me and I am doctoring them up... erm working on them... now. (No I am not giving myself more hair. Ha ha.)

The day was okay over all but there was some tension. Sometimes people get fixated on a problem and can't seem to leave it alone. When their actions interfere with others we have to find ways to calm things down.

Sometimes I feel like a juggler who's mission is to mesmerize people. I use movement and (apparent) disorder to produce peace. A comment or misdirection can distract a person from the problem for a moment. This is so different from the direct approach of my security days. I can still be direct but balance it with subtlety.

The newspaper said that the police get busier during heatwaves. The heat causes people to create disorder. I see that too at work. People get "all fired up" and can't let it go. They stay animated until exhausted or arrested.

When things get hot I like to find a cool place and relax. That's what I did today. I left the heat, and work, behind and came home.
