The Demo Blog Goes Group

The Demo Blog was set up to introduce people to blogging. After some interesting discussions with other Flickr members I decided to invite people to join a group blog. Basically it is a blog where new bloggers can ask for help. More experienced members could help with html (for example) or provide tips.

What I hope to see happen is someone paractise in the blog and make a mistake. In the next post a more experienced blogger recreates the mistake and fixes it where the newbie can see it. I could even edit the entry or putter with the template. If someone wants to install a gismo to his blog the can test it in The Demo Blog first. (within reason). This would prevent some of the headaches I have experienced from happening. We could have a list of items that screw up blogger.

More about this later.

Setting up a blog to help others with blogging? That's very kind of you.

Most mistakes are made with the CSS, so get 'em all to change to 'Firefox' and with the css extension you can experiment with anybody's pages on the fly as you're browsing.

Jack- unfortunately you are right. My blogger comments was slow to load. I won't list haow many times I bitched about missing a blogger's blog because of haloscan, or sitemeter, or (recently) 'blogpets'. There is a post by Biz Stone in 'Status Blogger' that deals with the recent mess.

Mike - most of the people won't know what you are talking about. Becareful ... or I will send you an invite to join as a helper:).

Joel - yeah, no money involved. My motive ? it's fun for me, i can teach, and I get to be boss. :) *evil grin*
