Braindance

The last post and this one are dual posts. They are being blogged to both Firemind and Braindance.

I want to write in both blogs and yet my personal style means the ideas that suit one blog suit the other. I may eventually move to Braindance or a WordPress version of Firemind. I would still be very involved with Blogger because of my various projects. My relationship with Blogger has been good overall, but I see another challenge.

WordPress is interesting. You can use categories to define each post. These categories are then used to find related posts. Flickr uses tags in the same way. For example: clicking on a tag called 'stone' will show all pictures that have been associated with that tag. It is a neat system and it is a useful tool in a weblog.

Another feature I like about WordPress is linking. Making links in Blogger is easier than some programs such as Diaryland. Sidebar links, however, still take some work. WordPress has made sidebar links a snap. There is a feature much like the link maker button in Blogger that you can use to add links to your sidebar. Changing your theme (template) doesn't delete your links!

There are minor problems with some themes, and WordPress itself, but I am impressed with the program. The host I am using is Blogsome.

The Blog List

I have started a WordPress specific directory called The Blog List. It is only open to WP blogs to fulfil a needed service and to experiment with WP related features.

The Demo Blog Team

We have been very busy. Our members are contributing when they can and helping each other. Our Photoblog is updated frequently.

Gale has worked very hard at getting Whale Tales presentable and organized. There are minor things to work out, but it is quite nice. The stories about her whale encounters are fascinating. Stop in and say hello.

Four of our six members are using Blogtools comments and/or guestbooks. Thank you Cameron for providing a great service.

Me

I am busy with taking pictures, and organizing myself for the holidays. I will be away for a bit, but I may get to blog. More about that later.

I hope to upload more pics tonight. I have so many from last month to upload and I continue to take pics. Life is rough.

I will be creating more sets (albums) at my flickr site. Two I plan on are VicWest and Chinatown.
