My Demo CD.

Recently I saw a newspaper article about a training school going bankrupt. It turns out it was Computer Masters where I took a Multimedia Design Specialist program.

The program was very interesting. We studied Authorware, Director, and Freehand. Three high powered computer programs made by Macromedia. Our final project was a demo CD showing our skills.

I included a number of things on my demo. I added screensavers, artwork, and my resume. The main focus, however was to showcase my multimedia projects which included an Internet ad and many games.

In a program called Starstruck I have Capt. Picard beam down and ask where the viewer wants to go. The viewer can then check out different things. I included an amazing animated video from the game Civilization II. The video and other multimedia are the reason I can't publish the CD on the net.

The major part of the demo consist of Spy School a series of games and educational tools for kids. Some of the games are geared towards younger kids and one is for kids around 10 or so. The information on secret codes is great for older kids.

The hardest part about making the games was getting the difficulty levels right. Another thing was that I used too much audio. Silly voices are funny for a while but soon get annoying. Some of the ideas were fun to conceptualize. For example the following picture shows a game called Pin The Donkey On The Tail.

This CD was made for Windows and should run on any version. It probably needs the Authorware Player from Macromedia which is free.

If you would like a copy of the cd send me your address via email (don't post it in comments).

I used it once but didn't do much with it. The other programs I used a bit were Dreamweaver and Fireworks.

:) Mick - that would be normal. In this game the donkey is moved.
