Mad Cow Disease and Avian Flu are making my dining out hobby more expensive. Last month I was at Red Robin and noticed a sheet of paper explaining price adjustments to menu items containing chicken. I wasn't too concerned because I hardly ever go there.
Recently I ate at The Old Spaghetti Factory and noticed that the cost of spaghetti and meatballs had gone up seventy cents to $10.95. This still isn't too bad because it includes everything from the drink to dessert. The restaurant is still the best place for reasonably priced full meals in town.
I liked to eat at Subway on Sundays because of their three for ten dollars special. The selection was limited but the price was great. I would have enough for a late night snack and breakfast the next day. On my last visit I found the deal had been changed to two for $8.99.
Slowly but surely the world invades my life in subtle ways. This one is insidious because I can't give up my dining hobby.

Indeed, I love the Old Spaghetti Factory, too. Sadly, we haven't eaten there since Cam and I moved here last Summer, but we used to all the time when we came here to visit. There's something so different and exciting about having no choice but to eat dessert!
