Pooped Police Pictures

The cops aren't tired - I am. I checked out my camera last night and decided to go and get a battery and a roll of film. The camera is in good shape but I still want to test it.

As I headed up town I saw preparations for a parade. It was a parade and dedication ceremony for a new memorial at the provincial legislature. The memorial honours fallen law enforcement officers. I didn't have any film yet so I didn't get pictures. The parade was very good. Motorcycles from various forces (it was strange to see cycle cops in RCMP Red Serge), police on foot, Sheriffs Department, Fisheries, Corrections and so on. There were two officers on horses, and several bands. I saw police from all over BC, Washington State (Municipal and State Police), and Portland Oregon. The crowd was responsive and clapped for each group.

I picked some film and a battery and went picture taking. After years of not taking pictures I had lots of ideas. I spent hours poking around places that I knew had the things I wanted. I am almost done the 24 pic roll I bought today. I did get several pics of the new memorial. All of these pics should be online this week.

Today was fun, but now I am tired and will nap for a bit.

When I read the tite "Pooped Police Pictures" a completely different thought came to mind than what was contained in your post. I'm glad you didn't write about what I was thinking!

How exciting that you are getting into photography after such a hiatus! I am looking forward to any pictures that you will be posting in the near future. It was such a treat recently to see that you had posted some pictures of yourself and your fabulous dorm room, etcetera. I've always wondered whether I have missed out on an experience not living on campus... probably just now my cup of tea, I would suppose, though.

I hope you are well!

Brent - Hmmm? do I want to know what you were thinking?

Laura-Jane - res could be great. I lived there for most of university. privacy could be an issue sometimes.

Joel - I will, I will - soon.

Mick - I would like a digital camera, but I can't afford one. My 35mm will have to do for now.
